I'm done, I'm through. Through the last few weeks, we have seen games come and go. Typically these games use the age old tactic of the "landshuffle" about as dangerous as the liberals of the 1800s.
Now, gentlemen and lady, I offer to you a healthy dose of reactionary roleplay. None other than an Old School Style. A while back we used to actually roleplay. We didn't sit for a month waiting for inactive players to grab lands they were entitled too. In fact, you were entitled to nothing you couldn't get your hands on!

When I was first introduced to roleplay, there was a class to it. Right now, you roleplay. I don't think you understand. You roleplay, while we roleplayed. There was something about it that gave you the impression that a country was under your reigns. That hundreds of thousands of soldiers were at your beck and call. There was a feeling that you had a people, that looked up to you to make the decisions that affected themselves, their families, loved ones, and most importantly, their nationalist state. That my friends, was roleplay.

However, I have not been in a game like this for some time. It disappoints me, truly. I can tell you bedtime stories about days past, when politics was both a pitched conflict on the battlefield, and a shady treaty made in backrooms with lit cigars. I can tell you stories in which kingdoms, nations, dynasties, and empires rose and fell. I can tell you these stories and more. However, only YOU, the roleplay community, can bring these glory days back.

And so, I offer to you, "Komodo's Roleplay School, Episode I: The N00B Menace".
We shall be playing this game Old School Style, which is similar to Gangnam Style, but without the red line under it to signify that it is a foreign word. This roleplay series will be about as simple as it gets. For...

"Simplicity, makes complex things simple. While it also makes simple things complex" -Komodo

We shall play on the Europe 1914 Ten Player map. You shall select one of the ten "Great Powers" of Europe. These are as follows, in no particular order.

1. Great Britain
2. Germany
3. France
4. Austria-Hungary
5. Sweden
6. Russia
7. The Ottomans
8. Italy
9. Spain
10. Morocco

You will select a single nation to play. I HEAVILY ENCOURAGE YOU to do some intense research on these countries prior to playing the game. For those of you who do not understand what I mean, before you apply, go to Wikipedia, and read every article that corresponds to your country in this time period. Do this, and you will do well. Don't do it and you will not do well. This is not a "France has become a Theocracy" game. This is damn serious roleplay. I do not want any jokery. You will play your country realistically starting around the second decade of the 1900s. From there, take your country in a direction. I do not expect to see France become Communist within a day however. I expect everything to be roleplayed realistically, and with class. Take this into consideration, as I will not be so apt to inviting you into future games.

The Rules, thus, are quite simple.

Rule #1: Roleplay with class, dignity, and realism that befits the time period. If you don't understand what I mean, you better just quit reading this thread right now. Type, "Nationalism" in your application if you've read and agree to this rule.
Rule#2: Do not go inactive, you will be kicked. Do not troll, you will be kicked. Do not be oblivious to your nation's history. You will be kicked. In general, do not do anything incompetent. Otherwise... You will be kicked.
Rule#3: Roleplay for the sake of roleplay. Stay in character in all messages, articles, and such. I highly recommend typing all articles in a newspaper like fashion, as was the style of the times.
Rule#4: Do not rage, break character, or type out of character messages in the DE, keep it all on the forums and do not make matters personal. This will serve to wreck the roleplay if you do not abide by this rule.
Rule#5: In general, if you have any questions, complaints, or comments, PM them to me or send them to me via Skype. It will reduce clutters on the forum, and keep the DE clean on OOC messages. Also, this should reduce OOC conflict.
Rule#6:Above all, join this for fun. However, do not ruin it for other players. If you cannot abide by these simple rules, and have fun, then do not join.

Well, now comes the applications. I want you to give me your name, a small sample of your past roleplay, as well as a sample of what you would write as the nation you are applying for. These samples can be roughly a paragraph in size. Normally, I would suggest about two for an average article however. The primary goal however, is to ensure that you do not post a four sentence article, or a six paragraph borefest. Keep your readers interested, but keep them informed. Give me the nation, of course, that you wish to play and perhaps a reference or two if you know some people that could recommend your roleplay to me.

This is now where I depart from you. Take into account what you can do, and how you can be better. Remember...

"The are several ways to cheat death and one of them is to be magnificent"
