The Reconquista
The Reconquista
"The Reconquista" is meant to be an experimental new type of Roleplay game. It's set to work with the system of "Enemy of my Enemy is my friend" and other sorts of Teamwork seen in normal Supremacy games, combined with diplomacy and necessary decision making with historical and a-historical events
This thread is meant to explain this experiment, as well as organize the players and instruct them on how the game is meant to be set up
Teams?
That's right, this game willl have the prescence of "Teams". Why do i wish to emphasize on that word? Well, because its Optional to team up with an ally, since there's only 6 players fighting each other in a European map. Never-the-less, there are 3 teams with different objectives, purposes and abilities
Catholic Team:
Castille & Aragon
The Catholic team is meant to fight against the Islamic team in an epic war for supremacy. They may enact truces and deal trade with other catholic nations, as well as war other Catholics. The Catholic team is victorious if the Islamic team runs out of Provinces in Iberia, and the Catholic team receives extra points if they exterminate their teammate in order to form Spain. This system is meant to simulate the lack of trust existing between kingdoms, but to help point out that they still have a common enemy
Islamic team:
Granada & Seville
The Islamic team is meant to prevail and defeat the Catholic team. Similar, if not identical rules as to diplomacy and objectives. The Islamic team is victorious if Castille and Aragon cease to exist, and they're extra-victorious if they unify and form the Sultanate of Al-Andalus/Andalusia
Harassment Team:
Holy Roman Empire & Sunni Caliphate
The Harassment team is without a doubt, key to the success of the other teams. These 2 nations are meant to take away the necessary lands of other nations in order to balance out power.
They're also meant to help the other teams succeed with their mission, by offering trade, sending diplomatic messages and espionage, they'll do their best to help their allied team succeed
However, they CANNOT go to war directly in order to defeat their enemies, in fact, they're not meant to declare war ever, or at least until the game has ended.
The Harassment team represents the highest roleplay value of the game, since the other 2 teams must work out diplomatic ties in order to receive aid from this team, since helping is Optional but recommended.
How does it work?
People will log in as nations and begin with a face of the game called the "Landshuffle". Normally, Landshuffle is used to create a certain scenario, though it takes time and kills rp games. The good news are that the game isn't exactly an rp game, it's a normal Supremacy game, with rp elements, which is why people need only to concentrate on this.
These are the instructions for shuffling land in the game for each nation
Castille:
+Logs in as Spain
+Conquers Oporto and Coimbra as official land (To be explained soon)
+Conquers Lille, Brussels, Casablanca and Antwerp as balancers (Also to be explained)
=Holds onto Burgos, Santiago, Madrid and Salamanca also as O.L.
=Can move capital to where it wishes
-Cedes all other provinces
Aragon:
+Logs in as France
+Conquers Barcelona and Saragossa as O.L.
+Conquers Milan, Turin, Genoa, Venice and Bologna as Balancers
=Holds onto Bordeaux, Ajaccio and Toulouse as OL
-Capital moved to Barcelona
-Cedes all other provinces
Seville:
+Logs in as Italy
+Conquers Seville, Badajoz, Lisbon and Lagos as OL
=Holds onto Rome, Naples, Florence, Brindsi, Reggio and Bone as Balancers
-Cedes all other provinces
-Moves Capital to Seville
Granada:
+Logs in as Morocco
+Conquers Malaga, Murcia, Valencia and Palma as OL
=Holds onto everything West of Oran (Including Oran) except for Casablanca as Balancers
-Cedes all other provinces
-Moves capital to Malaga
Holy Roman Empire: Hawshire
+Logs in as Germany
+Conquers all remaining lands in Belgium and France
-Is part of the Harrasment team
Sunni Caliphate: KillerKomander
+Logs in as the Ottoman Empire
+Conquers all remaining lands in Italy (Palermo and Cagliari) as well as all lands east of Oran (Not including Oran)
-Moves capital to any place in Africa
Provinces?
As you may have noticed by now, there are 2 types of provinces in-game; OL's (Official Land) and Balancer territories.
Official lands are the historical territories that formed these countries at the time. These lands are allowed to be taken by enemies and the official fighting will take place in these
Balancer territories are lands that "Don't" form part of the stage, like Italy and northern france had nothing to do with the Reconquista, but they're owned by the players so they have extra resources in order to have "A balanced fighting chance". Still, these territories cannot be taken by enemy troops, and should the rules be broken, it's the job of the Harrasment team to deliver punishment
Rules?
Aye...you'd imagine by now, that the reconquista takes place in the medieval era...that means there's a couple of things you need to know about so that the rp can fuction as such
The Truce of the Landshuffle will last until day 30 (Maybe less) and can be extended until players finish
People will be removed immediately if they go inactive
The Harrasment team cannot "Gift" resources or units, they can make generous offers but try not to make, 1 food for 10000000 oil
The Harrasment team cannot march in with troops into the battlefield, since they cannot declare war.
The Harrasment team is only allowed to trade once a day with each player
Everyone is allowed to build everywhere, but not every building is allowed
Level 5 forts, level 3 and above factories, as well as railroads are completely banned
No railguns or battleships allowed
You can build as many barracks, ports and forts as you wish
You cannot trade with the oposing team (Exception to be explained soon)
You cannot invade Balancer territories
You can occupy a country completely, but when making peace, you can only take 3 provinces at a time
You can mend your own treaties to your liking, though you cannot take balancer territories
You can use the stock market to your liking
You don't need a Casus Belli (Reason to go to war) when attacking the oposing team
You may attack the Harrasment team after the truce is over, but you DO need a legitimate Casus Belli when doing so
Anyone can build artillery at any given time
No GM spy spamming
You need a legitimate casus Belli when attacking a teammate
Abilities and exceptions?
Castille's abilities:
+Can build Knights (Armored cars)
+Can have level 3 forts
+Faster conversion rate of provincial religions
-Level 1 factory limit
Aragon's abilities:
+Can build Knights (AC) and Spahid Cavalry (Tanks)
+Can repair advanced muslim buildings
+Can trade with Muslims
-Level 1 Factory limit
-Level 2 Fort limit
Seville's abilities:
-25% Luck with events
-Can't build Knights (AC)
+Can build Spahid Cavalry (Tanks)
+Level 2 Factory limit
+Level 3 fort limit
Granada's abilities:
-Cannot do espionage missions of any kind
+Can build Spahid Cavalry (Tanks) and Knights (AC)
+Level 2 factory limit
+Level 4 fort Limit
The HRE's abilities:
+Level 3 fort limit
+Level 1 factory limit
+Does not go to war
+Has the most amount of land
+Can build Knights (AC)
-Part of the Harrasment team
-Can only help the Catholic team
The Caliphate's abilities:
+Level 3 fort limit
+Level 2 factory limit
+Does not go to war
+Can build Spahid Cavalry (Tanks)
-Part of the Harrasment team
-Can only help the Islamic team
Religion and events?
In order to enhance the roleplay value of the game, historical and a-historical events will be launched by the Harrasment powers every day/year in order to modify the stakes of the wars and the nations.
The amount of events as well as their effects variate on your luck
The Luck count goes like this:
+90% Base chance to get a good event
+10% Base chance to get a bad event (Seville has a 35% Base chance to get a bad event)
-Historical events are not affected by luck
What does Religion do? Well, simply, having the opposing team's religion in your realm increases the chance of a bad luck event happening by 10%, so through roleplay and articles, you must do your best to erradicate the heressy, though it is optional, yet recommended (Especially for Seville)
